Due to the weather, Hiawatha USD 415 will not be holding classes Friday, January 17.

Middle school basketball game for tonight has been cancelled.

Students in Mrs. Enneking's Class used their body smarts in a warm, ice free snowball fight to practice their sight word recognition skills. Students selected a snowball, read the word to themselves, a friend or teacher and then recorded them on their paper. Then, snowballs were molded and thrown. Students retrieved another ball and repeated the process. The kids had a blast! Always a fun way to be up and moving and practicing a needed reading skills without cold fingers and toes!!! #HESRedHawks #RedHawkReady #APlusKan

Students in Mrs. LeMay's class worked all week on a word resolution for the new year. They came up with a word that they could turn into a resolution, created a booklet and bracelet of their new word, and will keep track of when they do their word on bookmarks. Students chose words such as kind, nice, respectful, creative, focus, and friend. #HESRedHawks #RedHawkReady

Students in Mrs. Enneking's class make their own gingerbread man cookies in connection to The Gingerbread Man story. Our class has been working on character, setting, problem and solution. It was fun to make cookies, act out the story and create retelling bracelets.

The store is open! 5th graders were able to spend their money from their checkbooks today. The 5th grade teachers did a fantastic job stocking the store. Students love shopping!

8th graders gained exposure and experience to CTE (Career Tech Ed) class opportunities at HHS. Thank you, HHS—what a valuable event for our students!
