Jenny Dunn has been teaching English II and journalism for the past six years at Hiawatha High School. This year she will be teaching a section of English III. She is also the sponsor of the Red Hawk Reader Book Club.
Prior to teaching at HHS, she taught for four years at Falls City Sacred Heart, her K-12 alma mater. She received her bachelor’s degree in secondary education/language arts from Peru State College in 1997. In 2005, she earned her master’s degree in instructional technology and design from PSC as well.
Dunn was born and raised in Falls City, Nebraska, where she currently lives with her husband, Joe, who is a physical education teacher and coach for the Falls City Public Schools. The two of them have three children: Chaz, a freshman; Libby, a sixth grader; and Sam, a kindergartner.
Although Dunn drives from Nebraska each day, she is no stranger to Hiawatha, as she spent many summers working at Wilde Tool Company, which has been run by her family for four generations.
In her free time, Dunn enjoys spending time at her family cabin on the Missouri River, exercising, reading, and scrapbooking.
