Mr. Chris Vitt is currently in his 27th year of teaching Biology, Human Anatomy, and College Biology at Hiawatha High School. He graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1980 and earned a B.S. degree from Emporia State University in 1984. In 1991, Mr. Vitt finally earned his Master's of Science in Biology education from ESU. He has coached a variety of sports at HHS including volleyball, football, boys's basketball, girl's basketball, and golf. He is presently the sponsor of the Biology Club. He thoroughly enjoys experiencing the coral reef ecosystem each spring with Biology Club members near the island of San Salvador in the Bahamas. He truly appreciates all of the community's support over the years for this unique program for HHS students. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing, reading, lifting weights, and watching movies. He is married to his wife Michelle and has two sons, Jeremy, a senior at KU, and Ryan, a sophomore  at Highland Community College.
