Roundhouse Report

The "Roundhouse Report" is a student news production that is watched by the student body on Friday's during seminar. The show is put together by the Multimedia Technology II class, second semester.
�Roundhouse Report� Job Descriptions:
Producer: Your job is to outline, produce and edit a video story for the Roundhouse Report show. The story should include: an introduction, Power Point show, interviews, and dubbed voice over video clip.
Original GIF animation: Your job is to create an ORIGINAL GIF animation(s), from scratch, using the programs Adobe Photoshop and Adobe ImageReady that will be used to introduce the next edition of the Roundhouse Report. The animation(s) must be unique to something specific about our school, include a picture of an original piece of art of some HHS student (as the background of the slide), and must be presented in a Power Point slide with appropriate theme music.
Research: Your job is to do research for ideas to create a very detailed outline for TWO completely ORIGINAL story ideas to be used on the Roundhouse Report-ideas must be approved by the teacher before developing.
Mixed media show: Your job is to create a Power Point slide show combining real photos (of HHS students) with clip art and GIF animations to report about some current, future or past school event-the show will include a HHS student�s original piece of art, moving images, sounds, narration (must include voice(s) of individual(s) in photos) and music.
Digital Video Editorial: Your job is to write a 5-point editorial and using the digital video camera and the computer to edit, illustrate your story with video clips (NOT interviews!). You will narrate the story with your voice, reading your written information. You can choose to:
1. Inform: The writer gives careful explanations about a complicated issue.
2. Promote: Writer tries to promote a worthy activity. Get the reader involved.
3. Praise: The writer praises a person or an event.
4. Entertain: The writer encourages or entertains the reader about an important issue.
Question of the Week: Your job is to write a �Question of the Week� (not a YES or NO question) and interview at least 5 people (answering your question)-at least one student from each grade level, at least one boy and one girl and at least one staff member. Choose from the �Book of Questions� list.
Webpage Design: Your job is to write an article for our school�s webpage that includes the article, an animation, photos and a slide show (submitted through the SOCS website).
Day in the Life: Your job is to produce a video story (including the requirements for producer) all about a day in the life of some student who is new to Hiawatha High School. You must include some photographs YOU have taken of the person at school and also�some pictures that this person brings from home for you to include (you will have to scan them and put into Power Point).
For certain weeks, the following two jobs you may have in addition to the above job:
Correspondent: Your job is to write a script (no more than 1 minute) that will include any of the weekly announcements you think are noteworthy and an introduction to the next edition of the Roundhouse Report. You must then record this on tape-you can ask another staff member to join you, but YOU must be one of the correspondents.
Editor: Your job is to edit all the individually taped stories for that week onto ONE tape for the next edition of the Roundhouse Report.
