3rd Graders Travel Across Kansas
by Stacie Newell
February 26, 2009
The third grade classes got a chance to take a fictitious trip across Kansas this February. They were able to learn interesting facts about many different towns and cities in Kansas. The students visited two towns in each of the third grade classrooms. They learned facts like population, occupations, and when the towns were established. The students created posters to show what they learned about each town. Some of the towns that they "visited" were Salina, Wichita, Sharon Springs, Overland Park and Atchison. The students then compared these cities and towns with Hiawatha.
