My name is Chris Diller. I am an IRC teacher
in the High School at Hiawatha. I earned my special education
degree from Emporia State University in 1999. I have a degree in
elementary education as well. I am currently working on my masters
in Adaptive Special Education, also from ESU.
I have been teaching in special education for 9 years.
This is my 2nd year in the Brown County Interlocal. Before teaching
at Hiawatha, I was in the Rose Hill school district for 5 years,
and the Andover High school district 2 years. I love teaching in
the special education programs, and look forward to a long
career.
Along with my duties as a teacher, I am also the head
varsity football coach and the head varsity wrestling coach. I
spend most of my free time reading, coaching or playing with my
kids.
I have been married for 8 years to wife Heidi, who is a Hiawatha
native. She teaches music at the elementary school in Hiawatha. We
have 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy: Brenna 5, Sutton 2, Tagen 3
months. We have enjoyed moving back to and living in Hiawatha.
Family is very important to us, and there are many relatives in and
around this area.
