Art Contests Begin for High School Art Students

GFWC – Hiawatha Progressive Club Art Contest


Tyler's "Antuan" scratchboard will be competing at the state level.


Freshman, Sarah's ink drawing, entitled "Despair" received a first place in the ink drawing category.

The following received blue ribbons, (first) for their art: Tyler, Corie, Landon, Lyvia (2), Joel, Sarah, and Stephanie. Their art work will be on display at the Highland Art Gallery in Yost Hall through Friday, March 7. Tyler’s work received one of a “best of show” awards and will proceed to the state level competition.

Regional High School Art Exhibition – St. Joseph, MO

James entered three pieces of artwork in the Regional High School Art Exhibition 2008 at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, two weeks ago. Tyler had two of his drawings in it as well. James placed with two of his and received an honorable mention on both of them. Their work fromthis show will be on display at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in St. Joseph through Sunday, April 6, 2008.
