Family Reading Night

The students in Mrs. Glathar's 3rd grade classroom used the story elements from Because of Winn-Dixie to display on the bulletin board outside their classroom for Family Reading Night. The book was read aloud to the students and they discussed the different story elements as we read. The elements were then used to make a "story pyramid" on our bulletin board. We discussed the story's characters, setting, problem, events, and solution. Inside of the room for Family Reading Night, the students showed their parents the materials we use and work we have done for each of the 4-Blocks we do during Balanced Literacy.
