Art Teacher

Hello,
My name is Carrie Olsen and I am the Art teacher at Hiawatha Elementary. I believe I am very fortunate to have the best job! Each class comes to our beautiful art room for one hour a week to paint, draw and create. We have many, very talented, young artists emerging from our school and I am very proud of all my students.
I have been teaching Art since 1987. Before coming to our school, I was the children's librarian at Hiawatha's library. I grew up in Abilene, Kansas and graduated from Ft. Hays State College. I have taken many additional art classes throughout the years at other universities and colleges.
My husband and I have lived in Hiawatha since 1976 years....in the same home. Our sons are married and live in Lawrence and Philadelphia. I have a new grandson, Anders. I enjoy cooking, reading and traveling and, now, being a grandmother.
Please feel free to stop in and visit anytime. We welcome visitors and we will probably put you to work.....fun work, though.
