I Spy What Flies

5th Graders Measure Up!

by Trudy Wischropp

October 02, 2006

In order to practice reading length in the Metric System, 5th Graders had a mini paper airplane contest during a recent Science class.  After being given one minute to build a tiny paper airplane, students threw their creation down a flight strip of meters, centimeters, and millimeters.  The longest flight in each class received a brand new package of airplane material - notebook paper!

See if you can find the airplane in each picture by playing the "I Spy What Flies" Game.    I Spy What Flies  Thank you to Miss Hodge for taking the action photos of the airplanes in flight!
