Damian Johnson is in his 6th year of teaching and his 4th year as Director of Bands at Hiawatha High and Hiawatha Middle School. He received his Bachelor�s of Music Education Degree from Washburn University in 1999 and is currently working on his Master�s in Education from Baker University.
Damian is a freelance Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba player. He currently plays in the Delaware Valley Brass Quintet, Marshall�s Band in Topeka, KS, and the Nutcracker Symphony Orchestra in Topeka, KS. He is also the Director of the Hiawatha Community Summer Jazz Ensemble.
Damian is a member of MENC, KMEA, KBA, and NEA. This year was the second year Damian was selected to Who�s Who Among American Teachers. This year, Damian received the Teacher of the Year Award for the Hiawatha USD 415 School District. Damian is engaged to be married in July to Brandi, and has a daughter, LeAnne.
