Greetings HMS Parents and/or Guardians,

As most of you know from Mr. Moser’s electronic communication sent out earlier today, we will be transitioning to remote learning beginning tomorrow, September 24th thru Friday, October 9th.  Fortunately, over the past three weeks, students have been working to master Google Classroom and have had much practice as it relates to viewing instructional videos, completing and submitting assignments, communicating with their teachers, etc. Students will utilize their school-issued device to complete all work during designated remote learning. Teachers have outlined remote learning expectations and will continue to do so. Your student is required to attend online zoom sessions with his/her teacher each day at the designated time(s). Please be proactive and communicate with your child’s teacher(s) if problems/conflicts arise. If for some reason, your student’s device is not working properly, please complete the tech support ticket using the following link: Tech Support Form. If you do not have internet access for your student, please contact the school and/or your child’s teacher immediately. Feel free to call the school at 785-742-4172 or send an email to kgatz@usd415.org.

All scheduled extra-curricular activities from September 24th thru October 9th have been postponed, with the exception of any virtual-related events. The district will continue food services for students and will be releasing details very soon. Please complete the following food service form to ensure that the appropriate amount of food is prepared each day: Food Service Form.

We are asking that all families submit a remote learning assurances form via the following link as soon as possible: Remote Learner Assurance Form. These forms are required by the state and must be completed for all remote learners in our district. At this point in time, all students are considered “remote learners.” If you have any questions, please let me know.

If your student receives special education services, his/her classroom teacher will be in touch very soon.

Please know that we will do everything that we can to assist you over the next several weeks. The best method to reach me is via email kgatz@usd415.org or you may call the HMS office at 785.742.4172.

Best Regards,

Mrs. Gatz, HMS Principal
