“We Built This City”, “Life in a Northern Town”, “I’ve Been Everywhere”, “The Boy from NYC”, and “Big City Beat” are the songs this year’s Headliners singing group are currently practicing. They are hoping to do well in the Maryville contest coming up this weekend. They are missing three people from the group. Jim Brennan is going to be the drummer instead of Ty Kennedy. Ty has to go to Oklahoma City because his dad is being inducted into the Weight Lifting Hall of Fame. John Denner and Jay Brintnall will be missing because of wrestling.
Headliners class meets during 1A block. There are about 27 people in this class. This class is for students who can sing and dance at the same time. One must have discipline. They train for competitions that usually are hosted in Maryville, MO. This year’s theme is Cities and Towns. The outfits are blue vests and dresses with sparkles and blue ties.
“This class is fun for me because I get to do three things I love to do; dance, sing, and hang with friends,” said Junior Justin Brennan. “I think it’s awesome to have my dad drumming and my sister dancing and singing with me.”
The Hiawatha Headliners love crowds so they are hoping for many fans to come and watch them steal the stage in Maryville, MO!
