I have been teaching at Hiawatha High School for the past eleven year. This twelfth year I am excited to continue teaching English I, and I will now be teaching English III as well. I also sponsor the Red Hawk Readers Book Club.
Prior to teaching at HHS, I taught for four years at Falls City Sacred Heart, my K-12 alma mater. I received my bachelor’s degree in secondary education/language arts from Peru State College in 1997. In 2005, I earned my master’s degree in instructional technology and design from PSC as well.
I was born and raised in Falls City, Nebraska, where I currently live with my husband, Joe, who is a physical education teacher and coach for the Falls City Public Schools. We have three children: Chaz, a sophomore at Peru State College; Libby, a junior at Falls City Sacred Heart; and Sam, a fifth grader at Falls City South School.
Although I drive from Nebraska each day, I am no stranger to Hiawatha, as I spent many summers working at Wilde Tool Company, which has been run by my family for four generations.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time at my family cabin on the Missouri River, exercising, reading, and napping:).
