IRC Syllabus

 Overview: 

The IRC is a place where many things happen at the same time.  Students will work in their assigned subject, while other students work in the subject assigned to them.  Students may also be assigned a study period where skill on studying, testing, and organization will be taught.

                                                                                         Classroom Expectations:

Materials: It is the expectation that you will bring the following to class everyday.

1) Writing Utensil

2) Assigned textbook

3) Writing Paper

4) Classroom Organizer Folder

5) Planner

 

Tardies:  Students are to be in the classroom when the tardy bell rings.  Failure to do so will result in a Tardy and make up time.  Upon the 3rd tardy, the student will serve 30 minutes of detention time.

Passes:  Students will not be allowed in the hallways without planner.  

Restroom/Locker:  Students are expected to bring all material to class and will not be allowed to return to the locker to get items.  Students are also expected to use the restrooms during passing periods and lunch periods.  Only emergency situations will be considered.

Absences: Students will make every effort to attend class as scheduled.  In the event of an absence, the student is required to seek out the teacher and ask about missing work.  The teacher may not be seeking the student.

Late Work:  Late work will be considered on a per case basis.

Expected Behaviors:

1) Treat everyone with respect.

2) Display patience with yourself and others.

3) Keep talking to a minimum.

4) Maintain student planners with assignments and schedules

5) Hand work in on time.

  

 Grading Policy:

A =  100-90%

B =   89-80%

C =   79-70%

D =   69-60%

F =   59% or below
