The Hiawatha FFA Chapter is pleased to announce the October FFA Members of the Month are Jack Tesoriero and Jocelyn Dvorak. Both were chosen for their active participation in FFA throughout the month.
Jack Tesoriero is the son of Richard and Pam Tesoriero. He is a junior taking Wildlife Management. Tesoriero said he joined FFA because he enjoys agriculture and wants to be part of a group that shares a common interest in agriculture. Tesoriero said FFA is and has been an important part of history and has contributed to a more agriculturally-inclined society. His Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is Wildlife Production Management. Through his SAE, Tesoriero promotes and regulates the number of bobwhite quail on the property he manages.
Jocelyn Dvorak is the daughter of Jason and Nancy Dvorak. She is a freshman in the Agriscience class. Dvorak said her favorite part of FFA thus far was participating in various competitions. FFA, to her, gives students a chance to learn and develop skills that will be beneficial to them in their careers and lives. Dvorak has not yet begun her SAE, but she has high aspirations and a strong plan. Her goal is to start a Sheep Production SAE and raise lambs for show and market. She will rent an alfalfa field to produce her own feed and sell excess bales to help offset the costs of her SAE.
