November FFA Members of the Month
It is a great pleasure to announce that the November FFA Members of the Month are Alan Simpson and Kaysi Overdick. Both were chosen for their exceptional participation in FFA activities throughout the month of November.
Simpson is the son of Stacy Barnes and Gary Beck and Shawn and Christina Simpson. Simpson is a junior. In FFA, he said, “I always have fun and enjoy what I do.” He joined FFA as a freshman due to various recommendations and to try something new. Simpson said he had no idea he would enjoy the organization as much as he has. Simpson said, “FFA means being part of a team I can rely on. It is something everyone can do and something they can be proud to say they are in.” Simpson’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is in the area of entrepreneurship. It involves him raising chickens and selling eggs for profit.
Overdick is the daughter of Susan and David Overdick. She is a sophomore and enrolled in Animal Science. Overdick said her favorite things about FFA are meeting new people and getting to spend time with friends outside of school. Her siblings’ enjoyment of FFA is what encouraged Overdick to join FFA her freshman year. To her, “FFA is an organization that brings teens together. It also helps those teens hone their ‘love for agriculture.’” Overdick’s SAE is a Beef Production Placement. This involves her feeding and haying cattle. Her other SAE involves photographing agriculture. She has spent time with area photographers learning the trade.
Congratulations to these FFA members!
