Award Amounts vary - and are substantial!
By qualifying to attend Wichita State’s scholarship competitions, you must be fully admitted to WSU with an ACT, an SAT, and an official high school transcript on file. If you have questions, you can visit admissions.wichita.edu or phone 316-978-3085 (or 800-362-2594). There is more information in the Counseling Office as well.
Some of the scholarships available include:
Barton School of Business' Allen, Gibbs, & Houlik L.C. Scholarship ($44,000 is available). Participants must intend to major in one of the following: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems or Marketing. To be eligible, applicants must be admitted to WSU with a minimum 3.50 GPA and have a minimum ACT composite score of 24 or an ST composite score of 1110, and declare a business major. Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering (amounts vary from $10,000 to $15,000). NOTE: FEMALE competitors with a 26 or higher composite and math ACT score receive a minimum $1,000 scholarship. Participants must be interested in one of these engineering fields - Aerospace, Bioengineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical, or Computer Science. You must submit an official high school transcript with a minimum 3.0 GPA and sign up at www.wichita.edu/wise. School of Music Scholarships Invitational (last year 64 new students received music scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $20,000) YOU MUST contact the School of Music for audition requirements AND schedule the audition for November 13th. You must be interested in: Jazz, Music Composition, Music Education, Music Performance, or music w/general electives in Business, Journalism, or Broadcasting, or Piano Pedagogy. You must complete the following BY OCTOBER 1st: complete a scholarship app at www.wichita.edu/musicscholarships, complete an audition reservation form at www.wichita.edu/musicauditions, submit a transcript with a minimum 3.0 GPA and declare a music major. Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (Over $500,000 awarded annually!) Two winners will each receive $48,000 Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships based on leadership and academic performance. The top 50 competitors will be awarded four-year scholarship packages. To be considered, BY OCTOBER 1st: send a high school transcript with a minimum 3.50 GPA, have a minimum ACT composite of 24 or SAT composite of 1090 on file with WSU, and be admitted to WSU.
