A general ‘how-to’ Scholarship Seminar will be
held Sunday September
19, 2010 at the Elks Lodge, 208 N. 1st Street in
Hiawatha, KS beginning at 2:00 p.m. Paula Ash, the Kansas
State Elks Scholarship Chair and a former school counselor will be
presenting the
seminar. This will be a very informative seminar for anyone
in high school, and
parents, teachers and counselors are all welcome to attend.
This will not just help students to complete the Elks scholarships,
but any other scholarship they may be interested in applying
for.
Ms. Ash will discuss what scholarship judges are looking for on the applications and what stands out. She will speak to seniors about saving for college and doing extra curricular activities and volunteer hours, etc. so they have a better chance at possibly being awarded a scholarship.
There will be no charge for this seminar. Anyone with questions may contact Mrs. Venita Ruhnke at the above number or e-mail her at venita1741@yahoo.com.
