Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

This grant is awarded during an eligible student’s first and second academic years.  The maximum award the first year is $750 and the second year it is $1,300.

 

Requirements:

* Receive a Federal Pell Grant during the same award year;

* Be a full time or half-time student

* Be a first-or second-year full-time undergraduate student in a degree program at a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution

*  Allows states to define a ‘rigorous program’.

 

If a first-year student:

  • Have completed secondary school after Jan. 1, 2006
  •  If a second-year student:
    • Have completed secondary school after Jan. 1, 2005 AND
    • Have at least a 3.0 grade point average as of the end of the first academic year of undergraduate study.
