Hi there, welcome to my bio page. This is my seventh year teaching at USD 415 and fifth year at the high school. After moving from eight grade science to the high school I have taught Chemistry and Science Concepts for four years and Physics for two. I'm also excited to be starting and Engineering elective class this year too. This will also be my fourth year coaching middle school boys' basketball.
I'm looking forward to another great year of having fun with students and challenging them to learn more about how everything in their daily lives works.
I went to college at Kansas State University, majoring in Secondary Education and minoring in Biology. I recently earned a Master's in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University.
My wife, Mandy, (the high school agriculture teacher) and I have two rambunctious boys -- 2 and 3 years old. They keep us pretty busy.
Fun facts:
- We went on a 17-day, 3544-mile, 11-state, 115 hours-in-the-car vacation this summer to Mesa Verde, the Grand Canyon, Vegas, LA, Sequoia Nat'l Park, Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Mount Rushmore.
- We have a box turtle that roams around in our house.
- I do stained glass art/crafts.
- I like to "read" audiobooks. A lot. I've "read" over 30 this summer, and 58 since last July (as of 8/11).
