Mr. Nichols' Notes

by Ron Nichols

August 14, 2007

Hi everyone and welcome to notes about Nichols.  I am the Elementary Physical Education Instructor and have been here since 1979.  I also am an assistant Track coach at Hiawatha High School.   Over the years in Hiawatha I have also taught Adaptive PE for the Special Education Coop and coached football-high school and middle school, and girls basketball.  I hold an undergraduate degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and a Masters degree form Emporia State University.

My family includes my wife Cathy, who is a substitute teacher for the Hiawatha and Horton districts,  son Ryan, a Baker University graduate and band instructor for the Valley Falls district and daughter Carissa, a current student at Baker University.

Among my interests are announcing American Legion baseball games and other events.  I also dabble in baseball card collecting.  I am a member of the Hiawatha Lions Club and committe member of Boy Scout Troop 313 of Hiawatha.  I also serve on church boards as well as lead adult sunday school and am a local lay speaker for the church.

Sing as if no one is listening, dance as if no one is watching, love as if you have never been loved and live as if heaven was on earth.

Thanks for listening.
