Helen began teaching Gifted Education for the Brown County Special Education Cooperative in the fall of 1984. She has a BA in History/Political Science from Washburn University and a MS in Gifted Education from Fort Hays State University. Helen moved to Hiawatha with her husband Ed in 1974, and have 3 adult children who attended all 12 grades in the Hiawatha district. Helen is currently the GT teacher for the Gifted students in the district's three attendance centers. During her free time Helen enjoys researching historic events and architectue, working with her herd of horses, gardening, and spending time with her family.
